WHY PASTOR FAITH OYEDEPO HELD A SPECIAL THANKSGIVING

After being away for many months, Pastor Faith Abiola Oyedepo, the wife of Dr. David Olaniyi Oyedepo, the Presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church (Winners’ Chapel) made a triumphant return to the pulpit, during the last thanksgiving service. Indeed, it was such a defining moment for the entire congregation, who, in the last few weeks, had anxiously prayed to see this highly anointed minister of the gospel come up to the altar. The ELITES gathered that last August, Pastor Faith, who is fondly called Mama, had traveled abroad to visit her children. Her daughter-in-law, Ayomitide had just been delivered of a baby girl. Ayomitide is the wife of Isaac the second son of the Oyedepos, and he is the Resident Pastor of the South Africa’s branch of the church.
It was while Pastor Faith was with her children that she was involved in a mild domestic accident. She was taken to the hospital for medical treatment. In the course of administering treatment their patient, it was learnt that the doctors had mistakenly administered wrong medication on Pastor Faith. This resulted in her health condition getting more complicated, as there was no sign of improvement in sight.

Back home in Nigeria, the congregation became anxious when it observed that Pastor Faith was no longer coming to the altar, as it was customary for her to do, during every Sunday service and mid-week service on Wednesday. It was gathered that, by November, she began her journey into full recovery. A week before Shiloh, the annual prophetic event of the church, Pastor Faith returned to the country and her arrival was announced to the congregation.  Although, she was present at all the programmes of the event, Pastor Faith did not participate in any of the ministrations. It was at this juncture that some members of the congregation became anxious to know what be the matter with their beloved spiritual mother. The brewing anxiety was deflated on Sunday, Januray 26, when Pastor Faith was invited to the altar for a special Thanksgiving session during the second service. A wild shout of joy rented the air, as Pastor Faith, who was accompanied by her husband, her two daughters-Love and Joys and son-in-law, Steve Ogah, stood on the altar to testify to God’s faithfulness, as evidenced in the supernatural recovery of her health. She thanked the entire congregation, for standing in for her in prayers and supplication. Looking very radiant and cheerful, her joy was shared by the congregation, who launched into a high-power praise after she addressed them. Last Sunday, during the monthly Thanksgiving Service, Pastor Faith turned up at the altar to carry out her customary ministration. Her presence drew a thunderous shout from the congregation.
Pastor Faith, who turns 56 on Wednesday, February 5, has authored many life-transforming books. Her teachings and ministrations have made great impacts on millions of lives and families across the world.
Funnily enough, Bishop David Oyedepo never betrayed any sign of anxiety while his wife was away. Papa, as he is fondly called, by his congregation went about carrying out his God ordained assignment, which took him to many nations around the world during this period.
